In the fourth quarter of 2023, the fitness and weight loss app category on Android in Australia saw varied performance across top applications. Sensor Tower's data provides us with an insightful look into how these apps fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

Fitness giant Fitbit experienced a significant surge in downloads towards the end of the year, jumping from a few thousand weekly to a peak of 12.5K in the week leading up to December 18th, and slightly dropping to 8.1K by Christmas. Weekly active users fluctuated throughout the quarter, with a notable dip in November but recovering to approximately 129K by the quarter's end. Revenue maintained a steady increase, climaxing at $33K in the last week.

The AllTrails: Hike, Bike & Run app saw its downloads peak at 4.5K in the first week of December, then experiencing a holiday boost to 5.6K. Weekly active users experienced a decline in mid-quarter but rebounded to 36K by December 25th. Revenue trends were somewhat erratic but ended on a high note at $8K during the festive season.

Garmin Connect™ did not generate any revenue during this period, but downloads saw an impressive peak of 7.6K in the week of December 18th, dipping to 6.1K by the year's end. Lastly, BetterMe: Health Coaching witnessed a steady download rate with a notable rise to 4K in the last week. Weekly active users saw a gradual decrease from 12.4K in early October to a low of 7.9K mid-December, before climbing back up to almost 12K. Revenue trends were generally stable, hovering around $4K-$5K, ending the quarter with $4.2K.
